Family Background: I was raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia. I was in church with my family whenever the doors were open and I became a Christian when I was 13. When it came time to pick a college I choose Spring Arbor near Jackson. After graduation I waved goodbye to Michigan’s cold winters and said, “Well, that’s enough of that.” Little did I know I’d marry a GM guy who’d move me back to Michigan thirteen years later. Sean, and I have three sweet children, Michael (16), Amy (13) and Rebecca (10).

Background at URC: We moved to the Lansing area from Atlanta five years ago and after being here two years we still hadn’t found a church home. So we Googled, “reformed churches Lansing.” From those results we picked three churches to visit; URC was up first. On our first Sunday we were welcomed by Ben Falconer; when we came the second Sunday he remembered our names. We never went to the other two.
