Joining with area churches, URC will be hosting the Magnify Conference on December 2-3 with keynote speaker, Ed Welch. Edward T. Welch, M.Div., Ph.D. is a counselor and faculty member at CCEF. He earned a Ph.D. in counseling (neuropsychology) from the University of Utah and has a Master of Divinity degree from Biblical Theological Seminary. Ed has been counseling for over thirty years and has written many books and articles on biblical counseling, including When People Are Big and God Is Small; Addictions: A Banquet in the Grave; Blame It on the Brain?; Depression; Running Scared; Shame Interrupted; and Side by Side: Walking with Others in Wisdom and Love. He and his wife, Sheri, have two married daughters and eight grandchildren. In his spare time, Ed enjoys spending time with his wife and extended family and playing his guitar. Registration is now open at magnifyconference.org, and brochures are available at the welcome desk.
Game Day Volunteers
SCF will again be selling programs at football games to raise money for SCF scholarships. We need 40 volunteers per game, but the more the better. As a bonus, all volunteers get to stay in the stadium to watch the game for free. We need volunteers to sell programs for October 15 – Northwestern and/or November 19 – Ohio State. Men’s Breakfast
Come join other Men in Fellowship Hall at URC on October 29th for breakfast, a short discussion, and great fellowship. We are looking for volunteers to help cook, clean-up, and if possible, bring a dish to pass or some juice. There will also be a basket for an offering to help cover some of the additional costs. You will receive an email to sign-up to volunteer.
It is important to register so that we know how many people we need to cook for. Please feel free to bring your son(s) or a friend. (It is up to your discretion if your son is old enough to attend, most sons are around 13 years old and up.) Please be on time or early as we will start promptly at 8:00 AM.
Please contact Justin Kaake with any questions or SIGN UP NOW!
