Theology and Practice: Meets every Saturday morning from 9-11 and covers biblical counseling model and methods (e.g. biblical personality theory, biblical psychopathology, biblical change process, how to help people change). This class is open to all and would be helpful for disciplers, mentors, and lay counselors. The class runs from October through May.
Issues and Observations: Meets every Friday afternoon from 4-6 and covers specific counseling issues (e.g. depression, anxiety, conflict resolution, marriage counseling) and provides opportunities for peer counseling, observations, and feedback. This class is open to all who have had previous counseling training (including URC Theology and Practice) and/or experience. This class runs from October through May.
Supervised Observation: This is for those who have completed both URC classes and includes observing a URC counselor and being observed doing counseling. This is set up on an individual basis.
