My occupation: I’ve been fortunate to have many great experiences in my work life – banking, manufacturing, home healthcare, and for the past 20 years as a software sales rep to the construction industry. It’s been a satisfying career and certainly one I couldn’t have planned or strategized on my own – the Lord truly does open and close doors for us and He’s demonstrated His faithfulness over the years in this area.
My background at URC: In 1979 I moved to East Lansing as a grad student at MSU and that fall was introduced to University Reformed Church by a friend. Met Tom Stark on my first Sunday and I felt at home right away – good biblical preaching, heartfelt worship services and wonderful fellowship led me to adopt East Lansing as my “greener pastures” after graduating. Several years later I met my beautiful wife Grace, and we were married in 1989. I love URC – the people, the focus on Biblical teaching and the opportunity to be a part of advancing the gospel in mid-Michigan and beyond.
About me / my family: Grace retired from teaching at MSU several years ago and now cares for her Mom at our home. She’s solid as a rock and the love of my life. I have six siblings, one dog, twelve types of saws and a fond affection for MS-Excel. I enjoy serving the Lord behind the scenes – He’s provided many opportunities to help others and to assist with various admin tasks at church, and I count it a real privilege to serve on the URC Diaconate.
