Women's Christmas Tea
Hostess Information
What to Bring
Your main responsibility is decorating a table for 8 including a centerpiece/decorations, plates, cups/mugs (these will be needed for your guests to get their hot drinks!), napkins, and silverware. Please know that paper/plastic is completely fine. The main goal is to provide a welcoming, creative, and festive environment! A white tablecloth will be provided.
Co-Host
We encourage you to ask a friend to be a co-host to help with conversation and with welcoming women to your table. There will be some icebreaker questions available to help aid in the conversations, and we ask the host to lead in those questions.
Set up
You are welcome to come and set up anytime after 1 pm on the day of the tea. Please have your table set up by 6:30pm that evening.
Seating
Seating will not be assigned. Therefore, we'd love it if you could be actively seeking out women to come to your table and sit with you. Although many ladies may know others and feel comfortable finding a seat, there are a good number of newer or less connected women and we'd like to avoid the awkward "Where do I sit?" feeling as much as possible. We hope to encourage each Hostess to have at least 2-3 ladies they are not familiar with at their table. This is a wonderful way to get to know new ladies in our congregation! Also, depending on the personalities of the women at your table you may need to help guide/jumpstart conversation. There will be conversation starters at each table if you’d like to use them.
Clean Up
At the end of the event, we ask each Hostess to take home their table centerpiece/decorations, plates, cups/mugs, napkins, silverware, etc. This way the custodians will be able to clean up quickly after the event, and no one’s centerpieces/decorations will be misplaced.
Hopefully that gives you the information you need for hostessing. Please be in prayer for the women who will be at your table and that the Lord would be glorified as we fellowship and worship together that evening. Feel free to contact Priscilla Lohrman (517.449.5088 or [email protected]) with any further questions you may have.
