To promote equipping the saints for the work of ministry (Eph. 4:12) URC is offering its Biblical and Theological Foundations course this Fall. If you are interested in growing in your knowledge of Scripture and theology, and your ability to minister the Word to those around you, this class is for you. The class is a prerequisite for those interested in serving URC as an elder or deacon one day, but it is open to all members of the church — both men and women — with a heart to grow in leadership in the church.
In lieu of VBS this year, we are inviting our families to host small Backyard Bible Clubs at their home.
- Who to invite: Kids (suggested age: 5 yrs old – 5th grade) from your family, from your neighborhood, from your small group; whoever it is, just keep the number small enough to be safe.
What we will provide: curriculum, songs, & crafts. “Things Hidden” by Sally Michael on the parables of Jesus so that they might seek the hidden treasure of God and find their satisfaction in Him.
Suggested schedule: MWF, an hour and a half each day, any week from 7/27 to 8/21
Join us Friday, May 8 on Facebook Live at 7:30 pm for An Evening of Praise with Jon Anderson.
This event is intended to both encourage the body of URC and to invest in our community. Feel free to share this with any friends or groups you think might enjoy it!
Please join us for a three-week Equip class considering some questions and thoughtful answers concerning the inspiration, the inerrancy, and the interpretation of Scripture led by Pastor Kevin Phipps. We will meet on Thursdays from 6:30-7:45 am beginning March 26. Sign up here.
Join us March 1 for a Soup and Salad Fellowship Dinner after our Sunday evening prayer meeting. Please bring a crock-pot of soup and a large salad (with dressing) to pass if able. Be sure to label your items if they are gluten or dairy free, and please label your crock pots and bowls with your last name.
All women, middle-school age and up, are welcome to join for an evening of fellowship and domestic skill sharing. Our first gathering will be on February 25 from 7-9pm at URC. Vanessa Chesebro will demonstrate bread baking basics and Marcy Hall, Carissa Minnaar, and Kristin Fassee will discuss all manner of gardening topics. We’ll have the opportunity to learn hands-on, ask questions, and encourage each other to be Proverbs 31 women. Contact Danielle Spencer with any questions. Hope to see you there!
Join us February 9 from 12:45-2:00 pm, Pastor Jason will join us to teach about the church’s role in sending missionaries. Additionally, Nick will share some short term ministry plans during the spring of 2020 which have the goal of supporting and encouraging some of URC’s long term missionaries. All interested in missions are welcome! As always, lunch and childcare will be provided. Please RSVP by Friday, February 7 at https://urchur.ch/gosend.
