URC 50th Anniversary Celebration Weekend
2016 marks the 50th anniversary of University Reformed Church worshiping together. We are planning events to mark this milestone the weekend of November 4-6.
Friday November 4th: An evening concert hosted by Pat Quinn. Before and after the concert there will be time for fellowship, and of course snacks.
Saturday November 5th: Formal celebration banquet at the Eagle Eye Banquet Center. The banquet will be for adults only and will cost $15 a person/$25 a couple. Registration begins mid-September.
Sunday November 6th: Our Sunday schedule will remain the same, with special worship services celebrating URC’s 50 years.
Throughout the weekend we will have the various ministries of URC showcasing how the Lord is working in each ministry
Please contact Andy Middlestead with questions or to donate to the celebration.
Counseling Training Classes
Counseling Training Classes starting in October. Please contact Pat Quinn to sign up or for more information.
Theology and Practice: Meets every Saturday morning from 9-11 and covers biblical counseling model and methods (e.g. biblical personality theory, biblical psychopathology, biblical change process, how to help people change). This class is open to all and would be helpful for disciplers, mentors, and lay counselors. The class runs from October through May.
Issues and Observations: Meets every Friday afternoon from 4-6 and covers specific counseling issues (e.g. depression, anxiety, conflict resolution, marriage counseling) and provides opportunities for peer counseling, observations, and feedback. This class is open to all who have had previous counseling training (including URC Theology and Practice) and/or experience. This class runs from October through May.
Supervised Observation: This is for those who have completed both URC classes and includes observing a URC counselor and being observed doing counseling. This is set up on an individual basis.
